I know that many things during this season give us all reasons to reflect on people and places that have special meaning. Here are few of mine.
Vanilla wafers. They were always a favorite of Aunt Rose (requiescat in pace). I don't make them as often as I should, and rarely run across them when I don't make them, but when I do, I remember how much Aunt Rose liked them.
Christmas Carols, esp. "The Boars Head" (e.g., <
http://www.christmas-tree.ca/music/boar.html>). The good carols are all great reminders of what the season is really about. Of course some remind me of when I managed to get roped into a bunch actually singing--in public!--some carols. Considering my own singing ability, I
know it won't happen again (right Father?). Listening, yes. Singing no.
Tea and/or hot chocolate. In special mugs. The mugs that my God Mother (requiescat in pace) gave me. It was many years ago, but I have been reminded of Aunt Rosalie each time I have used the mugs. They have been my favorites since she gave them to us. They are nice mugs
and she gave them to us.
Any things you'd like to share? Send them to me, or use the comments feature of the blog site (yeah, like that's gonna happen!).
Merry Christmas,
John
